Meet The Owner
Hello, my name is Justin Rawls. I was born in Orlando and raised in Apopka, Florida and as you can see in the photo i was always interested in heavy machinery from a young age.
While in high school I decided that I wanted to become a firefighter, so I attended Lake
Tech Fire School (class 103). During my time at Lake Tech, I realized that I really liked
the area and the Harris chain of lakes. After school I was hired by the City of Apopka
Fire Department and shortly after I began looking to buy my first house in Lake County.
In 2014, I was lucky enough to buy a house with canal access to Lake Harris.
Little did I know, the canal was full of debris and vegetation making boat access
impossible. To try and remedy the problem we spent countless hours trying to clean it
out by hand making little to no progress. After talking to other neighbors on nearby
canals, I started to realize that this was a common issue. Then I thought to myself, there
must be a better solution to this kind of problem… and there was!
From that point forward, I couldn’t stop the gears turning in my head… So, after
10+ years at the fire department, I was ready for a change and I decided to go “All In”
on my new idea, which to this day was still the most nerve-racking decision I ever had to
make. This led me to purchasing some unique amphibious equipment manufactured in
the Netherlands, and the next thing you know Florida Shore Clearing was born! Since
the year 2020, we have been helping homeowners and businesses all over the state of
Florida with invasive aquatic vegetation and various other outdoor services.
